England exit would be ‘added bonus’
Scotland’s Nick De Luca has admitted that knocking England out of the World Cup would be an ‘added bonus’ this weekend.
Scotland need to win the game to stand any chance of progressing to the quarter-finals, while there is a possibility that if England lose heavily, they could be the team heading out.
De Luca says that this would be enjoyable for him and his team, but that Scotland’s main focus is progressing to the knock-out stages themselves.
He said: “No matter who we were playing this weekend, it could be – it hopefully won’t be – our last game in the World Cup.
“If we do it right, England would go out, which would be an added bonus, but it’s not the incentive itself.”
“What we’re doing is trying to go out there and get through ourselves.”
